Who Should Use the iGo2 Portable Oxygen Concentrator?
Generally, the iGo2 is a great choice for anyone with a breathing related condition, but it is particularly well-suited to those with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Lung Disease (COPD) living fairly active lifestyles. Conditions that fall under the category of COPD include:
- Emphysema
- Refractory asthma
- Chronic bronchitis
Why Is the iGo2 Beneficial For COPD?
Conditions like COPD can lead to hypoxemia, or a lack of oxygen in the body’s cells and tissue. The iGo2 prevents this by providing a ready supply of oxygen and goes a step farther by adapting to its user’s breathing patterns to personalise their oxygen therapy and meet their body’s exact needs.
How Does the iGo2 Work?
The iGo2 Portable Oxygen Concentrator separates oxygen from other substances in the air and delivers this to the user via a cannula tube. Using SmartDose technology, it is also able to adapt to the breathing patterns of the user to deliver a higher or lower amount of oxygen to suit their activity levels.

To charge your iGo2 battery, make sure it is in its slot before plugging the concentrator into an AC or DC power outlet using the correct power chord provided. The battery status indicator will flash while the concentrator is charging and remain solid otherwise. Refer to the user manual above and this video for more details:
Does the iGo2 Deliver Oxygen in Pulsed Doses?
The iGo2 delivers oxygen in two modes, either Pulsed doses or SmartDose technology. The oxygen output of the Pulsed dose mode depends on which of the 5 settings you choose. In comparison, in SmartDose mode, once you have set your flow rate to its prescribed dose, there’s is no need to manually change it during the day as the concentrator will take care of it for you. The screen will show 1d-4d with the “d” denoting SmartDose mode.
What is the Pulsed Dose Oxygen Output of the iGo2?
Pulse flow oxygen delivery is more efficient than a continuous flow as it is based on the rate and intensity of your breathing. After a short burst of oxygen is released, the concentrator will wait for you to take another breath before the next burst. The 5 settings of the iGo2 can be found in the table below:
Setting | Fixed Minute Volume | Bolus Volume (20bpm) |
---|---|---|
Setting 1 | 260ml | 13.0ml |
Setting 2 | 440ml | 22.0ml |
Setting 3 | 725ml | 36.3ml |
Setting 4 | 880ml | 44.0ml |
Setting 5 | 1014ml | 50.7ml |
Always check with a medical professional before using the iGo2 to find out which setting is right for you.
How Long Does the Battery on the iGo2 Last?
The battery of the iGo2 lasts for 3.5 hours on Setting 2, so you can get on with your day with the task at hand without having to worry about your oxygen concentrator running low on power. The battery pack can be easily recharged by plugging your concentrator into a power outlet.
How Sensitive is the Oxygen Trigger on the iGo2?
The iGo2 has a trigger sensitivity of 0.05cmH2O. This is one of the most advanced pressure triggers of any portable oxygen concentrators currently available on the market and ensures an accurate amount of oxygen is release with every breath, with barely any delay.
Does the iGo2 Come With a Warranty?
You can feel confident in your investment into the iGo2 Oxygen Concentrator as it is covered by a 3 year warranty while the battery is covered by a year long warranty. The sieve bed inside the concentrator which separates nitrogen from oxygen in the air has a 1 year warranty, but you should be able to replace this yourself when necessary.
